In a 55+ community, must 100% of the homes be occupied by someone who is 55+? What if a spouse is younger?
According to the federal Fair Housing Act establishing communities for persons 55 and older, at least 80 percent of the occupied units must be occupied by at least one person who is 55 years of age or older. Communities may have their own guidelines or restrictions in addition to the HUD policy.
